Maribeku is Karthik’s show all the way – Arjun’s tune and backgrounds are highly effective in letting the tune flow. Neeli neeli works up its tune slowly, with Javed Ali joining with his lilting portion – great listen! Nee modala sounds odd and showy, on the lines of mid-80s Telugu jungle songs, but with a Middle Eastern touch thrown in. Fayaz Khan confidently rules the resonant pathos in Ale aleyo, while Arjun’s hip-hop mix in Baa baa baa Bengaluru is adequately foot-tapping! Kailash Kher’s Thundu beedi is simple, old-style kuthu – reasonably effective. Alemaari makes up for Arjun’s no-show in Lucky.
