Vellaikari nee plays out straight and flat, much like a staid old 90s pop track with the rhythms overtly laid out for Lawrence’s steps, while the composer manages an expansively showy jazz in Nenjam nenjam! Ilanthamizha and Raja singam are mere mélange of sounds that don’t rise above the noisy mess anywhere. Kanna nee ennai too, despite Bombay Jayshree is a clean classical track without anything going for it. The theme nudges Ennio Morricone in an interestingly original way, however. Compared to the other recent cowboy film, Quick Gun Murugan – and even on its own, this is a poor soundtrack.
