Music review: Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puraavum (Tamil – Yuvan Shankar Raja)

Posted by Karthik

Muthathu pakkathil is Vaadi en kappakezhange version 2.0 – with the same verve and loutish charm, while the choice of singers, Javed Ali and Bela Shende, along with the Raja’esque soft melody makes a big impression in Chinnansirisu. SP Charan is remarkably better than Yuvan’s off-key moaning in Kadaloram, a soulful song marked by its tastefully subdued backgrounds. Veteran SP Balasubramaniam gets an unbridled and sub-standard kuthu with very vague strains of Raja’s Aasai nooru vagai in Naa dharmanda, but Velmurugan’s eerie and ambient oppaari, Oru nimisham is hauntingly genuine. Kunguma Poovum Konjum Puraavum sees Yuvan in a dithering form.
