Another Indian makes it to the list too…Rasul Pookutty, for Sound Mixing in Slumdog Millionaire! Rasul is nominated along with Ian Tapp and Richard Pryke. Rasul (or Resul) is a regular in a lot of Indian films, as far as sound mixing is concerned! So, let us not forget that we have 2, and not just 1 Indian in the nominations list.
Update: Technically, 3 Indians have won Oscar nominations – A R Rahman. Resul Pookutty and Gulzar!
