Suneeta and Sangeet Haldipur’s compositions – Sun zara, Indian Girl and Ye zameen are bland, with an embarrassingly dated pop sound while Dudul Saikia helps Suneeta in the insipid Ishq da. Waqt is at least 5 years behind time, like Nexus’ musical sensibilities. Suneeta’s own solo compositions – Aaj mohe and Ye dooriyan – are dreary, despite her soaring vocals. Thankfully, Suneeta and James Hallet’s version of Pandit Laxman Prasad Jaipurwale’s thumri, Lage more nain, works – the vocals and Nexus’ arrangement blending beautifully. Suneeta’s best, Pari, triumphed because of Leslie Lewis – pity she continues to assume it’s her vocals!
