The indi-pop version of Piya milan ko should have Pankaj Mullick turning over in his proverbial grave. The mellow Kaise kahoon mein gains from Shashwati’s sweet singing as does the mild-sufi flavored Ishq from Zubeen’s vocals. Ramo Ramo’s haunting arrangements and a distinct Assamese feel endears, but Rimjhim sounds more like an amateurish college band playing. Mantra (Om) has unexpectedly hilarious lyrics (!) by Baba Nagarjuna and expectedly flies right above your humble head. Zubeen, who started his Bollywood innings by singing an uncredited, re-arranged Arabic chartbuster (thanks to Pritam and Ya Ali) may not get another chance at composing.
