Babumoshai Bandookbaaz (Music review), Hindi – Gaurav Dagaonkar, Joel Dubba, Abhilash Lakra and Debojyoti Mishra

In Barfani, Gaurav uses Jog raaga beautifully to create a deeply involving melody that’s a throwback to an earlier time. Armaan Malik and Orunima Bhattacharya excel in their respective versions. Gaurav’s other original song, Chulbuli, is a fantastic listen too, again evoking a wonderfully retro sound, expertly sung by Papon. Of Gaurav’s 2 recreations, Ghungta is incredibly catchy, while Aye saiyan, adapted from a Bhojpuri original, passes muster. Mohit Chauhan aces the expansive and bleak mood of Khali khali, Abhilash Lakra and Joel Dubba working on Debojyoti Mishra’s haunting scratch tune. Led by Barfani, this Babumoshai gets an impressive soundtrack!
