January mazhayil is rhythmic and sing-along’ish… with a simple and hummable tune, and gorgeous guitar plus keyboard accompaniments! Facebook has cringe-worthy lyrics and barely passable vocalized, techno music, but Ranjith is particularly impressive in Aindhu padigal, with its violin solo almost sounding like a separate vocal track! Mazhalai pechu and the theme song are the soundtrack’s best – the former has neat lyrics, pleasant tune and a lovely anupallavi to end it, while the latter’s smooth jazzy feel is accetuated by Shilpa Natarajan’s splendid singing! Vishal Chandrashekhar’s musical debut isn’t out of the ordinary, but does manage to stand out!
