Kanna kannarakkanave lists as many as six singers, and the tune is a predictably and beautifully native Malayalam, with Venugopal and Reemy’s vocals standing out. Ninnale innen is as much a showcase of Chithra’s outstanding vocals as much as Viswajith’s intoxicating melody that drawls wonderfully in raaga Mohanam Mishra Durga (please see Kartick Vijayakumar’s comment ), with a lovely ghatam-soaked background. Kaathil parayumo expands tantalizingly on raaga Vasantha in all its glory, sung well by the composer himself and Priya Jerson, and Sithara, in the other version. Anwar Sadath’s chendai-based Kathunna sooryante is as traditional as it gets. Viswajith’s two raaga-based compositions are easily the highlights of Rudrasimhasanam.
