Kalandar crackles with the nostalgic energy of a classic 80s pop (very Wham’ish!) song. Jasraj Jayant Joshi leads it darn well, with the song adding layer after layer of all Amit Trivedi regulars – endearing backing vocals, absorbing sax and horn phrases, and a captivating hook. Pinjade wale is identical and it’s a mystery why the song exists in 2 lyrical variants, but with everything else intact! Kangaroo, the title song, is very-Amit too, with a curious, almost-corny, catchy sound that instantly sucks you in. Benny and Shalmali sing their heart out! Amit Trivedi’s Marathi debut is short and snappy.
