Ammadi un azhagu continues where Inji iduppazhaga left, and does so in style too, aided generously by Sathya Prakash’s vocals. Kaakka muttai has the inimitable Vaikom Vijayalakshmi completely owning the rocking tune, even as Imman’s pulsating music adorns it all through. Koodha kaathu is pleasant, though also perfunctory as a melody, but Haricharan and Shreya breathe life into it wonderfully well. Nadigar Thilagam too is mighty derivative as a tune, and there’s no pardoning Krishnamurthy for pronouncing ‘Parasakthi’ as ‘Paarasakthi’! Maxwell’s Brass Band is a whimsical piece, at best. More of that very-Imman sound; half of it works, half doesn’t.
