Arijit’s delightful singing lifts the already gorgeous tune of Aaj dil shayarana. Pritam’s tune is unusually structured and makes fantastic use of violin the background. Irshad Kamil’s lyrics completely dominate the sombre Naina, Pritam opting for a Rahman’ish pensive sound and Arijit is great form again. Blame The Night is punchy techno dance done well, but Palang tod, both versions, falls off the bed by being utterly derivative. Tu hi toh hai, both versions, by Kunal and Benny respectively, is instantly likeable, with the speed cleverly cranked differently for each singer. Pritam’s winsome sound beats the Tamil original’s music hollow!
