Gulaabi‘s anthemic, prayer-like sound appeals, along with Malabika Brahma and Shilpa Rao’s vocals, and Neha Saraf’s rousing lyrics. Neha’s lyrics work in Dheemi dheemi too, with Kaushiki Chakraborty’s fantastic vocals. The desolate, melodious Ankhiyaan and the catchy, filmy-folk’ish Rang se are again Kaushiki’s show! Sharm laaj seems like an awkward 80s drunk song. Madhuri Dixit, her mother and Anupama Raag are earnest in Rangi saari that works more like a banter. Soumik competently writes, sings and composes the only male song of the album, Teri jai ho. Gulaab Gang’s soundtrack too is merely competent and less colorful than its title.
