Ippadiyum oruthan undu seems massively out of place in the current scheme of things despite how Raja tries – unnecessarily – to prop up the Nila adhu-style tune. Thannanthaniye and Thaaye vanthaaye, in comparison, are relatively unspoilt and the beautifully flowing melodies – that are oh-so-Raja – work easily; thanks also to Haricharan and Raja’s own vocals, respectively! Thedi ennai is pathos-laden and appropriately gloomy. Vanathil vanna malargal, the only non-rural sounding song, is a pleasant listen with the piano offering lovely support to Rita’s singing. Oru Oorla’s soundtrack is the same old Raja mix in his current, middling form.
