Sindhoora pottumthottu is vintage Raja material, but is also the type that has been a bit too frequently used by the man. So, it seems less interesting compared to the other tracks. Maripeelikaatte is wonderfully serene – that mild guitar playing in the background and the violins of the interludes accentuate the effect. Vijay Yesudas and Shweta’s Raaja gopuram is the soundtrack’s highlight, however. After that strange, stagey start, it morphs into an incredibly pleasant song with Raja making superbly 80s style use of guitar, violin, sax and the keyboard. Typical Sathyan Anthikkad material from Ilayaraja – short, tuneful and likeable.
