Aami shotti bolchi is a cornucopia of genres, but works well together with Usha Uthup towering above all. Javed Bashir’s Piya tu flows ahead beautifully from Ra.One’s Bhare naina, while the title song, no doubt a striking melody, feels like highly stylized 90s pathos, particularly the KK version; the other version by Shreya, due to the guitar background, feels fabulously different! Sukhwinder sings his heart out in Tore bina, but the overall package sounds ‘used’. Big B’s Ekla cholo re is wonderful re-imagination of the very familiar Tagore song. Kahaani is quite an interesting departure from the duo’s usual sound.
