Thalabadi‘s lively tune carries it through, with generous help from Shankar Mahadevan’s vocals, while Chuttu chuttu‘s simple and catchy tune comfortably sails past the sense of ennui the song creates overall. Oopiri is where Selvaganesh stands out, ably aided by Karthik and Chinmayi; the seemingly Naatai-based melody is gorgeous! Solar Sai’s Haiyayo is an amusing 60s style retro track recreated cleverly. Rangu rangu pales in comparison to some of the more bombastic kuthus created in Telugu; ditto for PJ Club Mix, a messy mish-mash. Selvaganesh’s hit or miss standard is glaringly evident now; Pilla Zamindar is more miss than hit.
