Sanju Weds Geetha (Music review), Kannada – Jassie Gift

With the air of an 80s Hindi song, Shreya Ghoshal’s Gaganave baagi is a pleasant, albeit dated listen. Nalle nalle is full-on techno and in Tippu’s pulsating vocals it does sound catchy, while the composer refurbishes his successful stock template for the umpteenth time in Raavana seethen kadda, again, in his own voice; it doesn’t work. Shreya’s pathos number Omme baaro too falls flat, while Sanju Mattu Geetha, despite its jaded, Rajshri-style tune has lilting appeal, partly because of it being repeated thrice! Jassie Gift has at least tried going beyond his usual template (barring a song); it works intermittently.
