Music review: Love Khichdi (Hindi – Pritam)

Jazeeren has an interesting texture – not full-fledged Pritam sound he reserves for the bigger films, but with enough verve, thanks largely to Ranu Mazumder’s vocals. Zarasa halka is something Rajesh Roshan may have composed – a decade-old orchestration, but with gorgeous singing by Shreya Ghoshal that takes this track to a different level, while the western country folk-styled tracks Yo baby and Mujh jaisa hero are superficial, with very predictable sounds. Sunitha Sarathy’s Kyon is decent – good interludes and the drastic tune changes sustain interest. Love Khichdi marks a departure from Pritam’s commercial sound and is curiously different.
