The Inside Man – Chaiyya chaiyya lowdown!

Anu Malik made adequate noise about Chamma chamma being used by Baz Luhrmann in Moulin Rouge. But Rahman did not utter a word. Everybody else did. Chaiyya chaiyya, during the opening and closing credits of the new Spike Lee movie Inside man (starring Denzel Washington, Clive Owen and Jodie Foster) sounds utterly pointless. The song has been added for just one possible reason – Spike loved it. And, with those annoying additional intrusions by Terence Blanchard, it sounds almost like a madcap teen fan of Rahman trying out his fave composer’s tune as a background music using his home video editor!
