Mariam Mukku (Music review), Malayalam – Vidyasagar

Posted by Karthik

KJ Yesudas and Sujatha rule over the delightful Ee kadalinu, a typically enchanting Vidyasagar melody that also has a very Raja’ish coastal sound! In Kavil, Vidyasagar elevates the coastal-feel in the tune (very reminiscent of Bhaiyya Bhaiyya title song!) with nifty touches like the mild Latino feel and great use of chorus, brilliantly sung by Najeem Arshad and Kavalam Sreekumar! Swargam thurannu, with its waltz’y arrangement, kids’ chorus is a great listen. Mekkarayil is instantly catchy, with a lovely strings section and a sprightly rhythm that constantly plays with the captivating tune. Vidyasagar in top form in Malayalam, as always!

The humming portions in Ee kadalinu is easily the best one in recent times! So endearing!!

For Vidyasagar, you cannot give 200 all the time as he offers nothing new or breathtaking but gives soothing tunes which will linger.. But we can be sure that at least one song esp melody stands out…
