Alone (Music review), Hindi – Jeet Ganguli, Ankit Tiwari, Mithoon, Dr.Zeus & Raghav Sachar

Posted by Karthik

Ankit Tiwari plays with Katra katra‘s backgrounds impressively, and nails the endearing tune as well, besides singing it really well, along with Prakriti Kakar. Mithoon’s Awaara has a tune that is both familiar and oddly enough, middlingly sung by both Altamash Faridi and Saim Bhatt. Jeet’s Chand aasmano se laapata is right up his alley and is an easy listen, and just bordering on the predictable. Dr.Zeus-composed Touch My Body, recreated by Raghav Sachar, and credited to 8 lyricists (!!) is a pointless, staid mish-mash. Jeet Ganguli and Ankit Tiwari are not alone, but together, to make this soundtrack work.

Anyone know what song Chand Aasmano Se Laapta is inspired or similar to? There is a song with a nearly same chorus, which could very well be another Jeet Ganguli song, and it’s driving me nuts listening to it. It has a similar tune and the lyrics go like “…. bhar gaya” “…. kho gaya” and it’s a solo song sung by a male who could be anyone from arjit, benny, javed ali, or k.k, or maybe someone else (not sung by udit, kumar sanu, sonu nigam, abhijeet, neeraj, etc).

Good album, but good lord, can Ankit, Mithoon and Jeet come up with new tunes or music?

Nachle Soniye from Dus Kahaaniyan (2007). I would go as far as saying it is copied.
