Singham Returns (Music review), Hindi – Jeet Ganguli, Ankit Tiwari, Yo Yo Honey Singh & Meet Bros Anjjan

Posted by Karthik

Jeet recycles his own 2013 rock ballad Man majhi re from Boss admirably well in Sun le zara; the original Bengali song’s singer Arijit reprises his role as well. Singham Returns is completely insipid; it’s MBA swag remix, even more so! Ankit Tiwari’s Kuch toh hua hai is distinctly like a Vishal Shekhar number – likeable melody marred only by the choice of Tulsi Kumar. Yo Yo Honey Singh’s Aata majhi satakli is typical of him – one hook repeated ad infinitum, with an assortment of curious sounds. Jeet and Ankit manage to salvage some music in Bajirao Singham’s life.

Title Song is the failure of the album. Despite using the original of Ajay-Atul, they haven’t been able to recreate even half the magic. The fierceness is missing, and on top of that it’s Mika singing. Agree MBA have made many a good song with him, but this was different. Had not expected this from them after all the music they have been creating.

Kuch to hua hai is probably one of the best songs I’ve heard so far this year since everything else has been boring or shitty. This year has been terrible. BTW this song is blantantly inspired from khuda jaane from BHS tho…..

The rest of the songs arent good and yo you honey singh makes me want to barf
