Ohm Shanthi Oshaana (Music review), Malayalam – Shaan Rahman

Posted by Karthik

Kattu mooliyo has the alluring combination of Vineeth’s thoroughly likeable vocals and gorgeous music by Shaan, topped by that beautiful sax! Job Kurian does the honors for the charming folk tune in Mandaarame, while Remya Nabeesan handles Ee mazha megham like a pro, aided by Shaan’s enchanting tune that traverses a ghazal’ish style to eventually land a rock base, all in style! Rinu Razak and Hisham are perfect for the engaging Hindustani-base in Mounam chorum neram, while it’s other, less-Hindustani and more-filmy version Sneham cherum is an equally lovely listen! Ohm Shanthi Oshaana is another feather in Shaan Rahman’s cap!

    Brilliantly executed by Shaan Rahman.

    Spot on Karthik.
Shaan is a composer to lookout for in 2014. The new gen scenario in Malayalam Film industry is creating some awesome compositions in fusion.
There is a special hook in Mandarame sung by Shaan & Job. there is a drama stage (naadakam) style to it with a build up seemingly used by YSR and ARR but staying true to Shaan’s style.
For the first time I’ve begun liking Ramya’s voice.
The two different feels of Sneham & Mounam are excellent. The roughness in Shaan’s voice is a blessing in disguise.

Karthik meedha unna namakkam purthiga poyindi. Was checking for some
new malayalam music thinkin milliblog will be the gateway to good music.
so top ten promising composer list and checked out the latest release
and some past releases of this composer. very very mediocre tunes.
Knowing carnatic music, i can say that this composer does not properly
    know more than 3 ragas,.

Some soundtracks I liked in Malayalam recently are Annayyam Rasoolum, Bachelors party and Amen. Those reviews were genuine
