Ordinary (Music review), Malayalam – Vidyasagar

Posted by Karthik

Enthinee mizhi rendum, with its familiar, bouncy rhythm, is quite enchanting – the tune is gorgeous and Vidyasagar cranks up the orchestration beautifully! Sun sun sundari goes a step ahead – simple, serene tune, sung fabulously by Karthik and Madhu Balakrishnan with minimal, but carefully assembled backgrounds. Suryasalabham‘s pensive pathos, barring the expressive saarangi base, is largely outdated, while the massive kids’ chorus in Chenthamara is charming. Thechippoo‘s ebullient outlook is templatized, but is still a joyous listen! Vidhyadharan’s two short tracks are earthy and very soulful. After what feels like ages, Vidyasagar gets his act together, again, in Malayalam!

“Sun sun sundari” – looks like VS has tried to recreate “Aazhakadalu” (Thendral OST). Sadly the song went unnoticed.  Madhu Balakrishnan had soared to his greatest heights in that song.

  • All the songs in this film were totally disappointed. Vidaysagar got mad to made those songs???????? There is no novelty for each song. Yesudas’s Sneshasalabam’ is too crap by his voice as well (Its better to retire from industry for himself) music also. I don’t know why those kind of craps is going to dish out to malice Malayalam music industry. –
