Mogudu (Music review), Telugu – Babu Shankar

Posted by Karthik

Aakalakalaka‘s naughty banter is endearing with Babu using violin to great effect, but Kavali kavali is jaded despite Madhumita’s spirited vocals. The funky sounds in Nuvvante naku don’t add up to anything interesting, while Bachelor Boys is as catchy as Babu’s ad jingles. Ettantee mogudu is pointless. The soundtrack’s hero is Karthik, with Eppudu nee roopamlo, a lilting melody and then with Choosthunna, the soundtrack’s best. With definite strains of Chalanaattai raagam (made legendary by Ilayaraja in Ninaivellam Nithya’s Panivizhum malarvanam), Babu weaves his violin magic to complement Karthik’s superb singing. Krishnavamsi does manage to extract interesting music from Babu!
