Item (Music review), Indipop – Euphoria

Posted by Karthik

Sajnaa apes Euphoria’s earlier folksy tracks, to relatively poor effect. Mere dost is a decent effort for its lyrics and a neat tune, while Gumsum has Palash of yore in full flow. Why is Dukeli in this album? Akela is a gorgeous melody but Palash’s vocals act as the song’s undoing, much like elsewhere in the album. Ram Ali, Jeene do, C U later and Kabootar‘s Indirock sound seems painfully outdated. The obviously titled title song, Item, offers only minimal succor; occasionally engaging and cringe worthy at places. As Item’s prelude voice-over announces, Euphoria or Europhia, it doesn’t matter anymore.

Keywords: Euphoria, Item, Palash Sen
