Bol (Music review), Pakistani – Shoaib Mansoor, Atif Aslam, Sajjad Ali and Baqir Abbas

Posted by Karthik

Kaho is very Enrique’ish and the song is middling at best. Atif’s other composition, Hona tha pyar, is the real deal; lilting guitar, beautiful tune and brilliant vocals by Atif and Hadiqa. Sajjad Ali’s Din pareshaan hai is a fabulous listen with a deeply affecting tune. Director Shoaib Mansoor’s three tracks are diametrically different – if Hadiqa’s Dil janiyan has a retro Pakistani Pop sound, Mumkin hai offers a pleasant ballad sound, while the thumri’ish Sayyan bolain is the best of the lot with wonderful singing by Shabnam Majeed. Bol is an interesting soundtrack; most of it works rather well.

I was reminded of “Wake Me Up When September Ends” vaguely when I heard those beats of “Kaho”
    Oh, my bad!
