Deiva Thirumagan (Music review), Tamil – G V Prakash Kumar

Posted by Karthik

Vikram sounds great in Kadha solla even though the pointless ‘story’ should appeal only to kids. His other song, Pa pa is bolstered largely by GVP’s foot-tapping arrangements while Vikram himself sounds annoying. Saindhavi rocks the dreamy, whispery melody in Vizhigalil oru vaanavil. Life is Beautiful makes a Yuvan-like celtic pitch, while Jagada thom, despite all those snazzy sounds, fails to engage. The soundtrack’s highlights are Vennilave, with GVP’s vocals in an ethereal and enticing tune, and Aariro, a mighty impressive melody sung by Haricharan and is superbly arranged as well. Melodious tunes packaged cleverly to appeal – GVP succeeds again!

  • The album is likeable after multiple listening except for Jagada thom. Thanks for the review. The song Jagada thom seems to be a lift off from a fusion music by Amaan Ali Khan & Ayaan Ali khan – Truth (2007). The songs can be watched , listened at http://sarod.com/ayaan/video_ay.htm .That fusion song was so beautifully composed & captured. But here it was brutally copied & murdered.

  • Come on. Kadha solla awesomely represents the way kids cook up a story by picking up incidents and situations as they narrate the story. The story is not the object of focus but the way its cooked!! The fact that it is narrated by a mature man adds more life to it.
