Ragada (Music review), Telugu – Thaman S

Posted by Karthik

The snazzy, racy arrangements of Meesamunna manmadhuda produce an illusion of it being good, but the tune is pedestrian. Shirisha is a considerably better bet – massy melody and great vocals by Hariharan and Srivardhini, while Bolo Ashtalakshmi is cleverly built on its catchy hook and foot-tapping orchestrations. Okkadante‘s all-woman show is banal, much like the title song – both nail the sound but barely stay on tune-wise. Empillo employs an oft-used Telugu massy rhythm but uses it well. Dhaman’s compulsion to go completely massy, given it is a Nag starrer, is evident – but it is just a mixed bag.

Off topic:Did you listen to the Vaanam single?..No word from you on that,so iam assuming you dint like it!;-)

  • Massy Numbers from Thaman! KeDi had decent compositions but an aweful movie peeled off the music off people’s minds. Hope this time it’s a reverse fortune for RAGADA. There are comparing the film to Hello Brother! HB had pucca mass numbers than this does. One more free advice: Get the ‘manmadhuda’ work out of Nag films. It put me off. The hooks, if any, hidden in this album failed to bait me.

Hello Brother was massy and very very enjoyable IMO!
