Golmaal 3 (Music review), Hindi – Pritam

Posted by Karthik

Golmaal’s new title song pales in comparison to Vishal Shekhar’s Sean Paul’ish title song that it briefly evokes in the beginning! Apna har din‘s only saving grace is that repetitive hook that is sung, helpfully, repeatedly, while Pritam does a very, very clever version of Pet Shop Boys’ Go West, in Ale – Neeraj Shridhar providing appropriate groove. His groove doesn’t quite work in mish-mash’ish Desi kali, however. Bappi’s Disco Dancer and Yaad aa raha hai get new avatars and are as good as the cult originals they’re based on, with extra masala. Barring Ale, this soundtrack is largely boremaal.

VS have moved on to better things, hope Pritam does too.

Isn’t Pritam becoming way to predictable.. same old type of songs again and again. Thankfully, certain hindi and tamil films have a nice indian score that the same damn western percussions that pritam uses

  • Desi Kali? As opposed to what, a firangi kali? Who did the lyrics for that one…

  • Ale seems kinda lift from some Brazilian song like he did in Pyar ka Signal..!!!
