Poon chillayil is sweet and likeable in a predictable way – the tune is familiar and appeals instantly, with usual Rahul’ish bells and whistles like the extended flute interludes and backing guitar. Indrajith competes more-than-competently with his brother in the title song, a pulsating song where Rahul gets the sound brilliantly right. The composer gets behind the mike for the bonus track, 24 Hours – his vocals sound stretched, much like the tune itself. Out of the instrumental pieces, Metal Pooram and Gauri’s Theme sound innovative. Chekavar has more of what one heard in Ritu, and that’s comforting.
