Khatta Meetha (Music review), Hindi – Pritam & Shani

Posted by Karthik

Aila re seems like a raucous homage to Pancham’s Jahan teri yeh nazar hai and works well – Daler and Kalpana Patowary vocals are high on enthusiasm. The Marathi-pop Nana chi taang is conceived like a breezy 80s pop track and is solid fun; Kunal Ganjawala is a brilliant choice! KK and Sunidhi’s Sajde* is adequately pleasant, but too staid to make an impact. Guest composer Shani reimagines singer Shehzad Roy’s sprightly Laga reh (from his 2008 album, Qismat Apnay Haat Mein) in a new avatar for Bullshit but it’s definitely not as good as the original. Purposeful, short soundtrack!

Keywords: Akshay Kumar, Trisha Krishnan, Pritam, Shani, Khatta Meeta, Khatta Meetha

*Sajde is, according to the CD, based on a traditional melody. Pritam is turning over a new leaf!

For people who’d like to listen to Shehzad Roy’s Laga Reh – super song!

Doesn't Nana Chi taang sound like FLO RIDA's right round..especially the starting marathi rap portion…anyone?

Never mind that similarity thing..it was yet again a hasty comment from my side..there is no connection.

Anyways, listened to this one properly this weekend. Sajde is simple & predictable yet infectious. I liked it. Nana Chi taang is great. Didn't like Aila re that much & BS is ok ok…overall this one is just passable for me, nothing great.
