Music review: Raman Thediya Seethai (Tamil, Vidyasagar)

Posted by Karthik

Enna pulla opens the soundtrack with honest, pathos-laden vocals by Vidyasagar, while Tippu does the same in Vanathai vittu, amidst innovative backgrounds and absorbing interludes. Ippave’s routine orchestration and rhythm actually camouflages a lovely, longing tune and Karthik’s inspiring vocals, like its lyrics, are impressive in the interestingly tuned Nanba. DJ DJ doesn’t fit the melody-rich soundtrack, but all that’s forgotten once Mazhai nindra starts! This is one delightful melody with beautiful lyrics and fabulous singing by Kalyani! After a brief lean patch with a couple of below average soundtracks, Vidyasagar bounces back confidently with his unique brand of melodies!

  • Am so happy for VS 🙂 I feel so bad that he is terribly underrated!

A very quick review again!!! Happy to hear that VS has come back again…But after repeated hearing I felt that Jeyam Kondan soundtrack was indeed very good, to be specific “Adai mazhai kaalam” & “Naan varaindhu vaitha sooriyan”… Indeed these 2 override Sakkarakatti songs!!!!

  • I too liked Jeyam Kondaan-3 tracks-Adimazhai, Adhaikoodavaa & Naan Varaindhu (the best one). Today most of the songs dont impress us at the first instance but they slowly grow as we listen on! In Raman Thediya, I am glad that Madhu Balakrishnan is back, as he & VS have some wonderful melodies together.

Hey karthik have u listened to “Amirtham” movie songs, music by Bhavatharini? Isn’t that a terriby under-rated OST?The “Nenje Nenje” is a divine melody. Also Vidyasagar’s “Thendral” soundtrack.
